Below are frequently asked questions and answers about service, menu, day of event and payment information. 

 

Q: How does Cooking with Chef Steven’s personal chef service work?

    A: Contact Cooking with Chef Steven to make a reservation and secure the date for your event. (A deposit is required to reserve your date). You will be provided with a free consultation with Chef Steven to determine the menu and finalize the details of your party.  Chef Steven will shop for the ingredients, then cooks, serves each course and cleans up your kitchen afterwards. Each of your guests will also be provided with a menu of the evenings delicacies. You will enjoy a memorable meal with your guests as Chef Steven takes you on a culinary adventure.

Q: What do I need in my kitchen?

   A: All you need is a working stove, running water, silverware and plates, and these standard kitchen items: A. Pots & Pans B. Baking Trays C. Mixing Bowls D. Cutting Board E. Basic Tools (Tongs, knife, spatula, serving spoon) Chef Steven can bring certain pieces of equipment based on the menu. *Note: Cooking with Chef Steven does not provide dishes. Please have plates, bowls, silverware, and serving platters/bowls for larger parties ready to go.

Q: Can I change my dinner event details after booking?
   A: To make changes to service date(s) or to make a cancellation, Cooking with Chef Steven requires 5 days advance written notice of any changes. If there is not 5 days notice provided, Cooking with Chef Steven will not provide any refund.


Q: How many guests can Cooking with Chef Steven accommodate?
   A: Chef Steven focuses on small and intimate dining experiences, however, we are able to accommodate larger parties with additional staff provided by Cooking with Chef Steven.

Q: What’s on the menu?
   A: You and Chef Steven will create a menu based on the season and budget. The freshest seasonal ingredients that are locally sourced when available and organic is always a priority.

Q: Are the ingredients organic?

   A: Organic ingredients is up to you and your budget however, Chef Steven prefers to source ingredients from farms and producers who share our commitment to organic, sustainable and ethically-produced food.

Q: Special diets? Food Allergies?

   A: Chef Steven can accommodate any guests special diet and food allergies, with advance notice.

Q: Kid’s Menus?
   A: With advance notice, Chef Steven can prepare kid friendly meals.

Q: Does the Chef Steven clean up after the meal?
   A: Yes. Chef Steven cleans throughout the cooking process and then details your kitchen after the service. Please make sure your dishwasher is empty before he arrives.


 



Q: What is the cost of ingredients?
   A: Cost of the ingredients will  depends on the menu you have selected with Chef Steven.

Q: What are my payment options?

   A: The deposit, food reimbursement and service can be made directly to Cooking with Chef Steven LLC. We accept Cash, Personal Check, Venmo, Chase Quick Pay, and PayPal.

Q: Does Cooking with Chef Steven offer Gift Certificates?
   A: Yes we do!  Please Click Here.

Q: I have more guests than expected, can I increase my headcount?
   A: Yes but advance notice is needed. Additional fee may apply.

Q: Which areas does Cooking with Chef Steven service?
   A: Oregon, Arizona, California, New York



 

PAYMENT

DAY OF EVENT

Q: What do I need to do?
   A: You’ll need to let Chef Steven in when he arrives and make sure the sink and dishwasher are empty. You should also set the table and prepare for your guests.

Q: When does the Chef Steven arrive?
   A: Chef Steven will arrive generally 3-4 hours in advance of meal start time. The meal start time is when you can expect the first course on the table.

Q: How much advanced notice is needed for an event?
   A: 48 hour advanced notice is preferred. However, we can do day-of notice (for a last minute reservation fee).
